هذا ويعد فيلم "المذنب" (The Guilty)، الذي أخرجه جيك جيلنهال (Jake Gyllenhaal)، خلال الحجر الصحي المنجر عن جائحة كوفيد-19، أحد أبرز هذه الأمثلة الإحصائية. تمّ تصوير الفيلم على مدار 11 يومًا فقط، ويمتد على مدى بضع ساعات، حيث يحاول مسؤول خدمات الطوارئ لرقم النجدة 911، ذو الماضي الغامض، مساعدة امرأة مختطفة. صرّحت إحدى منصّات البث على أنّ " فيلم المذنب" (The Guilty)، قد حصل على أكثر من 69 مليون مشاهدة، مسجلاً بذلك رقماً قياسياً جديداً لهذا النوع من الخدمات. احتلّ الفيلم المركز الأول ضمن 91 دولة، بالاستناد إلى الإحصاءات، بعد أن تلقى مراجعات إيجابية من المشاهدين والنُّقاد على حد سواء، الذين سلّطوا الضوء على جاذبية الفيلم من خلال الحبكة المتقنة وأداء الممثلين الذي تمّ الإشادة بهم، والذي تميّزوا رغما عن الإطار الزمني القصير للإنتاج وظروف الحجر الصحي التي تمّ فيها التصوير.

تزداد شعبية منصات البث في جميع أنحاء العالم يوما بعد آخر، حيث أكّد ما يصل إلى 83% من المشاهدين في الولايات المتحدة أنّهم يمتلكون نوعًا أو أكثر من هذه الاشتراكات. تشهد صناعة خدمات البث أيضًا ارتفاعًا من حيث القيمة السوقية، ومن المتوقع أن تحقّق حجمًا يزيد عن  330 مليار دولار بحلول نهاية عام 2030، مقارنة بحجم 70 مليار دولار في عام 2022، مع استهدافها أكثر من مليار مشاهد في جميع أنحاء المعمورة. كان لجائحة كوفيد-19 تأثيرًا هائلاً على زيادة شعبية خدمات البث، ممّا ساهم في زيادة الاشتراكات بنسبة 273%. كما تلعب الراحة التي توفرها خدمات البث، بالإضافة إلى ملاءمتها للهواتف المحمولة دورا كبيرا في زيادة شعبيتها كوسيلة للترفيه والتسلية. هذا وتعمل منصات البث أيضًا على دمج محتوى المدونات المرئية (Vloger) وأشكال أخرى من الفيديوهات الترفيهية بسرعة في قوائم خدماتها، مما يزيد من عروض منتجاتها لتعزيز الحضور الجماهيري في منصاتها والاستفادة من قطاعات السوق الجديدة.
